First Dance as husband and wife and mother/daughter dance
Russ and I danced our first dance to "Chasing Cars" by Snow Patrol. It was completely perfect for us. We had a hard time picking our first dance song and went back and forth for so long...until I heard this one on the radio. I was singing along to it when it just clicked. It was already a song that Russ and I really loved and so I immediately went home and downloaded it and listened carefully. I knew that was it. I played it for Russ when he got home and we were in complete and total agreement.
My mom and I had an emotional, but fun dance together. My dad (who passed away in April of 2003) was in a band when I was growing up. They routinely would tape audio of themselves during practice sessions. I had one of our favorite songs that he sang, pulled off the tape and put onto cd, which I gave to our DJ. This is what we danced to. My dad's version of "Walk of Life" by Dire Straits. I also pulled my sister out on the floor to partake in the family affair.
